Can you belive it?! I have finally risen from the depths. Life has been a complete whirlwind for the last few months. Everytime I turn around, something else gets put onto my plate. I think, finally, I am at a point that I can actually start keeping up with DA, and submitting some stuff so everyone can see what I have been up to recently.

Photography - and lots of it. My business is picking up and keeping me extremly busy. I'm not complaining at all - I feel so blessed at the moment. (minus the fact that my subscription ran out, and that is a real bummer!)

I apologize ahead of time to all of my watchers - because I am going to be submitting a boatload of photos - so, bear with me. Some of you may enjoy them - others may be annoyed. Regardless, it's time for me to share.

I have done 3 weddings since September, and am scheduled to do 5 more in the next 7 months. Somehow, somewhere - I earned my title of "wedding photographer". The response has been amazing. A real dream come true. I never believed I could actually do it, however - I'M DOING IT!!! I still have a lot to learn - but I am loving every minute of it. Being able to document such an important part of people's lives - it's an honor that I will never cease to be thankful for.

A big thanks to all of my supporters and the ones who gave me so much encouragement from the jump. I can't begin to tell you how much it means to me that you believed in me.

On the homefront - the kids are growing like weeds. Hubby is still doing the band thing - and I am enjoying the live shows. Life is good. (keeping fingers crossed that things keep climbing uphill)

*In regards to the whole °jark situation. I feel very badly that he has been treated this way. I know that everyone wants answers, that is expected - but what we have to realize is that right now that may just be impossible - because of legal actions. There are always 3 sides to the story - their side, our side and the truth. I want to know the truth as much as the next person - I feel it is owed to those of us who are subscribers. I whole heartedly support °jark and his efforts - without him this site would not have existed and I would not have met such wonderful friends. For that reason - I will be submitting something yellow for the 7th. But in true community spirit - I will continue to comment on the deviations in my message center.

Wow, I would say it is time for a journal entry. It's been a couple of months, crazy months. I have been so busy trying to get my photography business off the ground. I didn't realize it was going to take up so much of my time. Thanks to all of my supporters for continuing to leave comments, and being patient about me getting back to you. I am getting all caught up, slowly but surely.

Well, I have to say that my first official photography job was a success. I didn't get to take half the shots that I wanted to, due to time constraints and rain, but hey, the clients were very pleased with the results, and that is what's most iimportant. I will be posting some of the shots - my favorites, at least. I won't bombard you all with even a percentage of what I took.

I have another job in the wings - a toddler, which should be fun, and also a couple on the beach. I also need to get the baby in front of a camera, so that I can take his "1 yr. old" portraits. I have some great ideas for that. Now just to find some time.

I have recently finished my website, and it went live yesterday. I am so damn excited - like a little kid on Christmas Eve. Seriously, it was a big step for me. I had designed my husband's website, but did none of the coding. Thankfully =zilla774 helped out with that. But I didn't want to bug anyone about my own, so I dove right into the html tutorials and went at it. Let me tell you what, I was ready to throw in the towel a few times, but with some guidance from a few fellow deviants, I pulled it off.

Thanks to =dualdesigns for her constant encouragement, and to =gazzy-h for giving me some insight, and last but not least *shawkash who was my savior last night. Thanks guys, without you, it wouldn't be up.

Anyway, check it out. Yes, I know, most of the pictures are of my own children, but that couldn't be helped. Hopefully soon I will have some different faces to feature.

Now that I kind of have the hang of this whole website stuff, I am going to create on for my art, as well. I'll be sure to let you all know when it is up and running. I have designed a few banners and buttons, and would love for any and all to vote on their favorites. They are located here.

Hey, hey, hey......

Seems i is much tougher for me to get back into the groove, than what I was expecting. Going on vacation for a week was wonderful. Returning to DA with all of the "new submission policy" hype, and 1,089 message centre items was a little overwhelming. To be completely honest, I have had the urge to just hit select all and delete. Oof.

No matter how tempting it is, I am going to do my best to struggle through it. Just know, that although I may not be commenting on all deviations, I will atleast choose one or two of my favorites from each artist to comment on. I just don't think I have it in me to comment on 787 deviations. I'll try.

So, some really good news. I got my first "official" photography job. Official meaning I'm actually getting paid for it, and it isn't family or friend. Needless to say, I am very excited, and just a tad bit nervous. It is a wedding, so, a little stressed, as there is not another chance. However, I am confident I will do a wonderful job recording this special day. So, YAY for me. *pats self on back*

Other good news, we have chosen the winners for the contests. I say we, because, I have chosen the winner for my avatar contest, and my husband has chosen the winner for his "illustrate a song" contest. Our apologies for not getting to this sooner. The winners have actually been chosen for a while, but I am just now getting a few extra minutes to be able to udate the journal.

Vacation was good. I got lots of R&R, and tons of inspiration. Finally got my first tattoo, so, like Jena said, I am no longer a virgin! YAY. I will be posting many great stock photos in my stock account in the near future, so, keep an eye out.

Spring has sprung, and the cleaning has begun. There is nothing like opening up the windows, and letting the spring breeze bring in some clean fresh air. I am in mode, organizing, decorating, you name it. My computer files are getting organized, thank god. It was a huge mess, and it took me forever to find the stock I was looking for, so I decided to spend some time to get it all straightened out, so that my mind would be clear, and I could get back to creating.

Right now I have about 10 pieces half done, and I can't seem to finish one of them. As they say in feng shui, cluttered lives cause cluttered minds, so, i'm getting rid of all this damn clutter. Hopefully that, plus a week of vacation, will bring me back nice and refreshed, ready to tie up some of these loose ends.

Since we are leaving for vacation on the 30th, we have decided to up the deadline for the contests. It is now the 29th, this way we can make decisions, and post the winners before we leave. So, if you are planning on entering, and haven't yet - this is your last chance! We have gotten some great entries so far, and Furious is loving that his music has inspired such wonderful artwork. From the man himself "YOU GUYS RAWK"
